Thredd Cloud

The Thredd Cloud is a cloud instance of the Thredd live platform, which runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS sets the standards in providing secure, resilient, global cloud infrastructure. In recent years, cloud has become the chosen route for many of the world's leading financial services providers.

The Thredd UAT environment has been live in the Thredd Cloud since January 2021 and has been used by all customers since April 2021.

All Thredd functionality from our on-premise solution is available in the cloud. The Cloud service provides many additional benefits:

  • Speed of innovation: Use of the cloud infrastructure means we can quickly and easily integrate new features to meet changing customer needs (e.g. balance enhancements); using local end points (regionalised data clouds) will mean reduced latency and fast deployment into new territories

  • Connectivity: You can connect to our systems securely; enables seamless connectivity options for customers already using AWS; improves reliability as we are no longer dependent on individual Internet Service Providers (ISPs)

  • Security: AWS delivers the most stringent security requirements in the world; Thredd Cloud powered by AWS meets global regulatory and compliance standards

  • Future Proof: Using the resilience and speed of the AWS network allows us to enhance our disaster recover (DR) failover and improve our Recovery Point Objective (RPO) and Recovery Time Objective (RTO)

  • REST API: Some platform upgrades will only be accessible on the Thredd Cloud, including REST API.
