Reconciliation, powered by Kani

Kani is a SaaS (Software as a Service) solution used by fintechs, card schemes, Bin sponsors, banks and payment companies. The platform integrates with, and consumes, large volumes of data, from multiple points in the payments chain, making it easy to interpret, reconcile, and report on data. Importantly, Kani is card-scheme, payment-network, bank, and data-source agnostic, allowing Kani to consume data from across the payments landscape.

You can use the reconciliation service, powered by Kani, in your Thredd deployment to help with reconciliation, reporting, regulatory and scheme compliance. Using Kani, you can reconcile complex and contrasting data sets, saving you time, cost and resources. You can also use Kani to simplify and visualise the XML-based data that Thredd produces in a readable and user-friendly format.

Benefits of Using Kani

  • Complex reconciliations made simple: Using Kani, you can compare two sets of records easily (for example, the XML files from Thredd and scheme reports) to confirm that your accounts are consistent, accurate and complete. With Kani, both reports are imported into the platform to provide a clear and concise display of the contrasting data sets in minutes. A simple, intuitive user interface allows you to compare and reconcile large datasets, ensuring payments are accurately reconciled, with audit histories.

  • Automation and alerting: reconciliations can be automated, alerting you if anything is amiss and requires attention. This frees your team from having to do reconciliations manually, to managing only exceptions.

  • Business intelligence and reporting: with over 250 pre-built reports or the ability to design your own using a ‘drag & drop’ interface, Kani gives you actionable insights. You can examine data at a high level, drill down into individual payment records, or view the original raw data file.

  • Regulatory and card scheme reporting: Kani can automate the production of regulatory and card scheme reporting such as the Quarterly Management Report (QMR). The XML reports supplied by Thredd provide everything you need to produce the QMR, but Kani simplifies the process of importing multiple files to pull into a QMR. Kani can also automatically generate and export the Visa Global Operating Certificate (GOC) and Mastercard Quarterly Member Report (QMR).
